Destination Canada Summercamp or Golfcourse












The program:
Summer Camp:
The camp participants will receive 25 hours of english classes weekly, in groups of maximal 15 students. The teachers are mainly certified classroom teachers who teach at canadian schools during the year. There are teachers for the language course in the morning and teachers for the activities in the afternoon. The participants from all over the world are being supervised during the day and all evening.
Golf Academy:
10 days 3 hours/day golf lessons and 2 hours/day english lessons
4 days organised weekend tours
14 days organized afternoon activities
3 meals per day, 7 days per week
(golf cours participants may join the summercamp before or after the golfcourse).
Camp location:
The Camp is situated at the campus of the Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
The golf course will take place in the GreyHawk Golf Club.
Offer:
Organized and supervized sport activities 7 days per week, before and after lunch. The camp participants may use the tennis courts, the olympic size pool, the sport fields, and the gyms at the university campus. Additionally a variety of activities outside of the campus is being offered. On weekends organized educational and entertaining tours e.g. to areas such as Montreal, Ottawa, as well as museums and theme parks are being offered.
Optional booking of tours to the Niagara Falls and to Toronto may be made.
Board and accomodation:
All participants will have free board and accomodation in two bed rooms with individual desks.
There will be an "All you can eat" buffet in the cafeteria of the Carleton University, 3 meals per day, 7 days per week.
There is a lounge with a TV on every floor.
There is a medical clinic on the camous.
10 minutes ride to town with the bus.
Laundry facilities.

7:30-8:45 a.m. Breakfast
9:00-10:20 a.m. LEARNING SESSION I (e.g. Dictation, Vocabulary and Comprehension Exercises and Creative Writing).
10:20-10:30 a.m. Break
10:30-12:00 a.m. LEARNING SESSION II (e.g. Grammar Exercises, History and Geography of Canada, Canadian Culture).
12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch - Relaxation
1:00-3:15 p.m. LEARNING SESSION III (Emphasis placed on oral participation e.g. Debates, discussions, dramatics, films, sing-songs, walkabouts and excursions with vocabulary testing).
3:15-3:45 p.m. supervised relaxation period
3:45-5:15 p.m. UNIVERSITY-TRAINED INSTRUCTORS supervise a sports and leisure program. The students have access to ALL of the UNIVERSITY'S SPORTS FACILITIES: e.g. tennis
5:15-6:15 p.m. Dinner
6:15-10:00 p.m. SUPERVISED sports and/or cultural events in the city or on campus.
10:00-11:00 p.m. Bedtime
Sonstiges:
- Students are encouraged to bring musical instruments and games.
- It is recommended to limit the amount of spending money.
- All participants are insured for medical indemnity up to $50,000 CDN for the duration of their stay.
- Additional activities are being offered that are not included in the program price: e.g. movies, bike rental, waterslides, paddleboat rental, etc. these have to be payed by the participant.
- It is recommended to never have more than 50 CAD in cash. (traveller cheques may be usefull)
Rules:
- Students are required to attend all classes and take part in all organized activities and tours.
- Proper dress, behaviour and decorum are required at all times.
- No student is permitted to leave the campus without proper supervision or permission.
- Prescribed camp schedules must be followed.
- Any misconduct on the part of a student will be reported to the Director who will take appropriate action.
- Students whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate will, upon notification of their parents, be asked to leave the program.
- smoking is prohibited in Canada for all individuals less than 19 years of age. This will be enforced for all Destination Canada students.
Requirements:
- age 10 to 17 years
- visa
- photocopy of the passprot must be brought
- illnesses, allergies etc. have to be communicated if the safety of the student shall be guaranteed
Certification:
There will be an exam before and after the programm. A formal Graduation Ceremony will be held in the end with the presentation of a certificate of participation.
Airport:
- Ottawa (Capital)
- when agreed upon alternatively Montreal
The flight will be organized and payed by the participant.
The participants will be picked up from the airport.
